My name is Christy Allen and I am the Band Director at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Regional Catholic School. Originally, I am from Colp, Illinois. I taught music in Wayne City, Illinois and returned in 1985 to Herrin Unit #4 to be the Herrin High School Choir Director and general Music Teacher.
At OLMC School, our goal is to create a positve musical experience for the students and be a musical ambassador for our school. We enjoy playing for Mass several times each year, as well as performing for students and parents at both the Christmas and Spring Concerts.
The students in the OLMC School Band are such a fine bunch of young people that they make my job an easy one! Our band rehearsals are a great way to start the day and I appreciate their loyalty and positive attitude. When I am not teaching, I enjoy traveling and spending time with my family.
