Meet Mr. Bob Foster
My name is Bob Foster, and I am a Teacher’s Aide at OLMC School. I attended high schools in Carterville and Marion, graduating in 1970. In 1971, I enlisted in the United States Navy. I was an Aircrew Survival Equipment man (parachute rigger). In 1975, I was honorably discharged.
I graduated from John A. Logan College in 1979, with an Associate Degree in Applied Science. The majority of my career was in the field of manufacturing. I spent 23 years of my career wprlomg with the Sollami Company in Herrin, Illinois. I retired as the Plant Manager in 2019. I had been responsible for leading the manufacturing operation, as well as performing all drafting design layout work.
I married Toni Sollami at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in 1976. Toni is a member of the Cafeteria Staff at OLMC School. We have two grown children who both attended OLMC School.
As a Teacher’s Aide, I assume those tasks which enable teachers to spend more time in their roll as educators. I am available to the teaching staff to assist with the students as needed.
Having been involved with gardening since I was a child, I am a certified Master Gardener. In addition to nurturing and watching plants grow, I enjoy sharing the bounty of my garden with others. M wife and I are avid St. Louis Cardinal fans. We enjoy attending games in St. Louis as well as watching each season’s games at home.
